The academic year

 The academic year

Now that the academic year is ending in Greece and everyone is thinking about their holiday plans, it's a perfect time to remember that the academic year isn't about to end everywhere, in fact in some countries it began! In the sight of the end of our school year, we might as well see when the rest of the world will be over as well and maybe look at some other statistics along the way. We'll take a look at a few countries from each continent.

France

French schools start lessons in August and end in June. However, the days are quite different.  Instead of taking a break on Saturday and Sunday, they have free days on Wednesday and Sunday, with Saturday being a half day. The full year lasts ten months, without counting the numerous holidays in the year.

Greece

We couldn't write an article without including our own country. As all of us are familiar with, the school year begins in September and ends in June, with the summer holidays. Major holidays at X/mas and Easter where schools are closed for 2 weeks.
