Smoking Stinks

        Smoking stinks

Nowadays, many organizations and governments worldwide are trying to prevent citizens from the addictive habit of smoking. Although many things have been accomplished for no smoking even in public places, many people are not aware that passive smoking and smoking in general is the cause of many health problems. Therefore, I decided to write this article which will explain why tobacco should be avoided.

On the one hand, you will seriously damage yourself. First of all, even though it saves anxiety temporarily, you will later develop problems, such as asthma, lung cancer and heart diseases which will affect you for the rest of your life. It also causes other “every-day problems”, like bad breath, yellow stains, coughing, as well as a more serious one: pneumonia.

On the other hand, second hand smoke from tobacco affects the health of persons nearby who inhale it. That is unacceptable since it can be inhaled by pregnant women who need to stay away from cigarette’s smoke, but also children and teens that are developing and growing. This means that toddlers and teenagers might get asthma attacks, bronchitis, pneumonia, reduced lung function or impaired lung growth. But, also, it shouldn’t be near elders too or generally people with health problems. This is so that other health problems will be prevented from happening.

Another problem worth mentioning is your personal finances or the economic state of your region or country in general. For your personal benefit, you should save money instead of spending it on cigarettes. A smoker can waste a fortune annually if he gets a package each day. Last but not least, the government offers a lot of money to hospitals so that diseases can be treated. Many of those, if not most, are related to smoking. Therefore, if citizens don’t smoke, there will be a boost in the local economy.

All in all, you ought to stop smoking before it is too late or I am advising you to not start it, especially in your youth. This way, the drawbacks of being addicted to nicotine will never affect you or the general public.
