LABUBU KING

LABUBU

These little ugly-cute creatures are elf like toy with a round furry body, large eyes and pointy ears. They have exactly nine teeth and are female. Despite their fierce appearence they are described as kind-hearted but people say that they are disguised demons. They are created by Kasing Lun.

Labubu first appeared as a character in Lung's 2025 illustrated book series called the "Monsters". Labubu figures are primaly female gendered and are  part of a monster tribe whose leader  is Zimomo. She is similar in appearance to Labubu but with a rounder face and a spiked tail. Then, Tycoco a shy, skeleton-like character is Labubu's boyfriend and a vegetarian.

That are the most important.

Something crazy about them is  Exclusivity and Scarcity: The 'blind box' strategy by Pop Mart, combined with limited editions and rare 'secret' figures, creates artificial scarcity. This sparks a 'treasure hunt' for collectors, leading to high demand and high resale prices. A large Labubu figure was recently sold at auction for $170,000. Global Popularity: The Labubu bag charm became a massive fashion accessory in 2024 and 2025 after celebrities like Blackpink's Lisa, Rihanna, Dua Lipa, and David Beckham were spotted with them.
