HUMAN RIGHTS IN ART

Human rights are really important for people. We all know about the right to speak, the right to privacy and the right to education. But human rights can be everywhere, including art.

How is art related to human rights?

Art is a way for people to express themselves, whether for the sake of imagination or to express ideas. It has been used effectively throughout history to send public messages about social and political issues. Human rights and the arts go together because of the expressive nature of both subjects.

Specifically human rights and the arts are closely connected because creative expression in itself is a fundamental right, and the arts provide a powerful way to highlight injustice, celebrate cultural identity, and give voice to marginalized communities. Through music, literature, visual art, and performance, artists can challenge oppression, raise awareness of human rights violations, and inspire empathy and social change.

Artists can express human rights with their work, but they also have the right of freedom and privacy of their work that is protected by the article 57 of the Civil code.

In conclusion, artists express human rights with their artwork, while, at the same time, they have the right to be protected and not  have their privacy violated, in any way.
