 CHRISTMAS COOKIES  



Christmas is coming and with Christmas are also coming lots of delicacies like turkey, melomakarona and, of course, cookies.


So this is the simplest way to make cookies and impress both your friends and your family. 



INGREDIENTS



1 cup butter — you can use salted or unsalted. If you use salted butter, reduce the salt by 1/4 teaspoon.


  • 1 cup sugar —this gives the cookie its sweetness 


  • 1 Egg


  • 2 tsp vanilla extract — use pure vanilla extract in cookies for authentic flavor.


  • 3 cups flour — use all-purpose flour in these cookies.


  • 3/4 tsp baking powder — this gives the cookies the perfect rise.


  • 3/4 tsp salt — a flavor enhancer and a must in all baking recipes.


  • Red and green M & M Chocolate Candies 





INSTRUCTIONS




Cream butter, sugar, together for 4 minutes until light and fluffy. Add the egg and pure vanilla extract and mix for 1 minute longer. Fold in flour, baking powder, and salt. Fold in chocolate M & M candies. Scoop onto parchment paper lined, light-colored baking sheet. Bake just until a light golden color. You don’t want to overbake as the cookies will continue to bake on the cookie sheet once it is removed from the oven. To make the M & M cookies look extra gourmet, add a few M & M’s on the top of the cookies once you pull them from the oven and they are ready to taste!!!
