Encardia band in our school
On the 20th of this December, Encardia, the music band, is going to give a performance in our school. They will play the following songs: Klama (Antramu pai), Kalinifta, Agapi Mou Fidella, Oria mu fenese, Tou polemou, Bella ciao, Barbarossa. This educational programme will take place in the school venue and the students will participate by dancing and singing. They will even be shown how to dance Tarantella, a folk dance of South Italy that was believed to be a kind of therapy due to the poisonous bite of a local spider, named tarantulla.
Encardia is a greek band that performs mostly traditional songs from Southern Italy and Greece also giving concerts in France, Algeria, Germany, Switzerland and Cyprus. It consists of eight members: Kostas Konstantatos, Vangelis Papageorgiou, Michalis Kontaxakis, Natalia Kotsani, Dimitris Tsekouras, Konstantina Kalkani, Gianna Hamaleli, Pashalis Kolentsis. The group was founded in 2004. They have released six albums, four of them are studio albums and the other two are live ones. In August 2008 they appeared at the festival "La notte della Taranta" with a crowd of 120.000 people.
